Hi! I’m Nicole, speech language pathologist and proud owner of Connect and Communicate Speech Therapy, LLC.
Working with children has always been my passion. Initially, I wanted to be a teacher, until a former high school teacher said, “No, you don’t want to be a teacher, you should be a speech therapist.” I shadowed a speech language pathologist during my senior year of highschool and fell in love with the profession. I attended UW-Eau Claire for my undergraduate degree and went to UW-Milwaukee for my masters.
I strongly feel that in order to make an impact on a student’s speech and language skills, they need to feel seen, heard and validated. The power to connect to others is immeasurable. Therapy needs to be engaging and meaningful, for both the child and the family. Professional development is important to me and I am proud to say that I am a lifelong learner. I love to share my knowledge with families to help give them the tools to support their learners at home and in the community.
I have many experiences in the field of speech pathology, but my greatest interest is working with young students and complex communicators. I believe that EVERYONE has a right to communicate.
I have a heart for making a difference. In the past, I participated in Racine County’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 10 years and am currently a licensed foster parent. When I am not working, you can find me spending quality time with friends and family, reading, baking, playing games or exploring and traveling.
